Le Bataille Du Pont D Arcole by Horace Vernet. The battle took place on the 17th November 1796, Arcole is a small village in Italy on the Alpine river. Bonaparte, holding the tri colour, urges on his Grenadiers and carries the Bridge of Arcole, thus bringing victory over the Austrians.
